1.02 is live: quest reset for washing, incinerator, and item jobs. Sabotage is once a day.
I Know a Guy: Shady Life Simulator

Shady jobs and stations

Quick answer

Wash and incinerator start at 5 BTC. Forgery timer is back.

Shady work is the second XP bar. It does not level because you sold pizzas. 1.0 rewrote the jobs: new names, a level requirement, a time window, and a written description on all 92 shady window jobs. You can accept a job before you own the station it needs. The missing upgrade is listed under HINTS.

Stations worth buying first

1.0.1 cut the Washing Machine level-1 upgrade from 8 BTC to 5 BTC, the same price as the incinerator upgrade. Early profit on Sean Mughead's first quest, the washing machine's first quest, and the incinerator's first quest was rebalanced in that same patch. Do not trust an Early Access video for those payouts.

1.02 added a quest reset for washing-machine jobs, incinerator jobs, and item quests such as Eleanor's chest. If the item is gone and the tracker is still up, reset that job. You do not need a new campaign for that specific jam.

The forgery timer was missing and is back. If a guide from April says the station has no clock, it is out of date.

Reputation you can actually plan around

A finished shady job moves reputation by 10. Camouflage in the yard (wire, planters, racks, a guard dog, a washing counter) reduces that move by 10–30%. Sleeping through a shady job expires it; you get a summary when you wake.

Sabotage on 1.02:

  • Yellow and orange zones, front and shady, have a 1 in-game day cooldown.
  • Cops or mob members appear at most once that day.
  • Arcade duel popups are also capped at once a day.
  • Walking out of the zone and back in does not refresh the timer.

The duel cabinets named in the 1.0 notes are Midnight Skater, Cop Bop, Pizza Typer, and Who Wants to Be a Wise Guy.

Pizza that is not on the front menu

Three achievements sit on the shady menu, and the patch notes do not print the topping list:

  • Collect 3 different mushrooms ("These Aren't All For Cooking, Right?"). 1.0 placed three varieties on 18 spots. It does not publish the coordinates.
  • Serve 10 Shady Pizzas.
  • Cook a Lucid Pizza.

Eleanor Marsh's dig quest unlocks a buyer who pays BTC for medical supplies. Red Eye's line unlocks extra ingredients. Neither note is a recipe card. If a hand-in refuses a pizza you burned on purpose, check the camera name rule first — several "he would not take it" reports were shots or items that never registered a name.

Dark web deliveries

"Some Hands-On Customer Service" is five different dark-web items handed over yourself. Buying 100 shady items is a separate, much rarer achievement. Dark-web search shows locked products and the tier they need, so a greyed row is a level gate, not a bug.

Bitcoin miners are bought per slot. The first trade is "To The Moon!". Miner Mk.III is a 1.0 machine. 1,000 BTC from shady quests is "Smooth Criminal", and almost nobody had it in the first days after 1.0 — the global rate was about 1% on 27 September 2026.
